Table Tennis





The qualification in a group in both the preliminary and intermediate rounds will be ascertained according to the following rules:
  • For each game the winner gets one point.
  • The group qualification is ascertained according to the sequence of the points achieved.
  • If there is a draw in points the best total result of all results achieved against each other in the same class of participants will be decisive, i.e. first the games ratio, then the set ratio and finally the ball ratio.

Preliminary round
In the preliminary round 24 participants are divided into four groups (A/B/C/D) of six players each. Game mode: everyone against everyone else.

Intermediate round

In the intermediate round the players are divided into three groups (X/Y/Z).

Group X consists of the 1st and 4th places in group A and B, the players in 2nd and 3rd place in group C and the players in 2nd and 3rd place in group D.
Group Y consists of the players in 2nd and 3rd place in group A, the players in 2nd and 3rd place in group B, the players in 1st and 4th place in group C and the players in 1st and 4th place in group D.
Group Z consists of the players in 5th and 6th place in the groups A, B, C and D.

In the groups X, Y and Z all players play against each other. Whereby the result that was achieved in the preliminary round is taken over into the intermediate round.
The qualification in group Z results in the rankings 17 to 24.

Placing round

In the placing round the players in 1st and 2nd place in the groups X and Y firstly play crosswise ( X1 - Y2 / X2 - Y1) a semi-final; after that the winners of these matches play the final for place 1 and 2 and the losers play for place 3 and 4.

The players in place 3 of the groups X and Y play for final places 5 and 6/place 4 from X and Y for final places 7 and 8/ place 5 from X and Y play for final places 9 and 10/ place 6 from X and Y play for final places 11 and 12/ the players in place 7 of the groups X and Y play for the final places 13 and 14/ place 8 of X and Y play for final places 15 and 16.


In principle the games are played according to the rules of the Internationalen Table Tennis Federation .
