the debut of the World Sports Festival .
The first Wold Sports Festival was held on the 14th July 2008 and welcomed 800 American and 2.000 European competitors. The sports played included baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling.
2009
the most successful year in the history of the WSF
A delegation of 1.700 American athletes found their way to Austria, and turned the festival into an unforgettable event. In tow they brought numerous US-celebrities (World champions, Olympic champions ...) who encouraged and supported the young ambitious competitors.
2010
the most diverse festival with 12 disciplines
For the first time in the history of this youth sports event, the largest in Europe of its kind, we were able to welcome competitors from Africa, Scandinavia as well as South-America. Over 300 athletes had travelled from the US to be at the start line. This year, Racketlon was included in the WSF-schedule.
2011
celebrity WSF ambassadors campaign for a public profile
Our WSF ambassadors addressed the public to support this outstanding event: Oliver Stamm, David Alaba, Franz Stocher, Maxim Podoprigora, Andreas Vevera, Stefan Koubek, Barbara Paulus and Armin Stremitzer. The exciting programme was professionally presented by none other than Austrian sporscaster Andreas Du-Rieux. A fact that may be part reason for more than 500 athletes to represent Austria – the best represented nation this year.
