The largest competition during the World Sports Festival 2008 in Vienna will be soccer. The teams from America are coming with approx. 600 players and are looking forward to playing against the other 900 competitors. In principle the games will be played according to the latest FIFA or Austrian Football Assocaition rules.

Every age group except for the U13 girls will be playing with back-pass rule. The U 13 games can only take place with at least eight participating teams. A list of all participants must be submitted by the respective team officials. Every player mentioned on the squad list of a team and complying with the official age regulations is eligible for the concerning category. The same players can be part of various teams of the same football club, however not in the same age-group. On request all the players must prove their identity with legal photo identification. Due to different deadlines of the European soccer federations exceptions may be issued. Motions must be handed over in written form to the organizing committee. Players must not be older than six months above age limit. Maximum 2 players per team are accepted to be older.

"A huge compliment to the organizers. They have thought of everything. At first they welcomed us warmly at the player's town and provided us our vouchers as well as completed the accreditation for all sports men. Finally, we also received the t-shirts. All this service was still not enough for the organisation, we were personally accompanied to our accomodation."
